A guide to commissioning a corporate video
We have included this guide as a way of helping you to determine the best possible way for you to approach the commissioning of a corporate video as well as to make you aware of the input that will be required of your organisation in order to produce a successful final product. If you have any further questions or queries please do not hesitate to contact us at isabel(at)nutmegproductions.co.uk
- Setting your Objectives - Initially it is important to set out clear objectives of what you wish your corporate video to acheive, clearly establishing its core purpose and the key message that you wish to communicate.
- Compiling a Brief and establishing a budget - As a client it is important for you to provide a brief detailing your expectations of the video; making clear a deadline, duration and target audience, any graphics, whether you wish to use actors or a presenter and if you require a voice over or the use of any specific locations. It is also important that you set a realistic budget making sure that you have taken account any financial limitations as set against your requirements; i.e. bear in mind the extra costs associated with using multiple locations or actors or complicated graphics and set this against your final product expectations. The brief ensures that expectations are realistic on both sides and means that we can be confident moving ahead with the project knowing that we are fully informed of all your requirements.
- Working with the Production Company - Once the brief has been established we can work with you to produce a professional script and shot list prior to filming. We can assist you in deciding what content and footage to include to get the best possible result from your video. It is helpful for you to appoint a key contact to co-ordinate your organisation’s input and approach to the video, this will maximise time efficiency and communication between ourselves and your organisation.
